The Land Of label

We're very excited to announce our latest release, Tube Overtures which is the debut full-length from Gutta Percha.

Tube Overtures first reminded me of these nights when I was a kid. I had a room in an unfinished basement of my parents home and on the other side of the basement was where my father, an architect, would spend many late nights hunched over his drafting table while watching late night TV on a B&W set. As I'd drift off to sleep I would hear the sounds of his drawing, light electrical buzzes, the sound of the exposed pipes in the basement and always the faint murmur of various TV themes in the background. I can realize now that these sounds (as unimportant as they seemed then) may have had an influence in the music I now listen to and create and even more these sound are what can create a feeling from home.

I can't think of a more perfect release for the label than Tube Overtures because they really referenced and used all of the sound around them in their lives and created compositions with it. And even better, they left most of these sounds intact so that they're recognizable and will hopefully evoke some of the same feelings or similar ones as they have with me. - JH
